Ingredients

  • 1 shot espresso or 2 tbsp instant coffee brewed with 8 oz hot water
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or almond/oat milk
  • 1 tsp bourbon vanilla bean paste
  • 1 tsp brown sugar optional, to taste
  • Cinnamon or vanilla bean scrapings for garnish

Method

  1. Brew your espresso or coffee.
  2. In a saucepan, warm the milk until hot (but not boiling).
  3. Whisk in the bourbon vanilla bean paste and sweetener (if using) until frothy.
  4. Combine the coffee and milk mixture, then divide between two mugs.
  5. Garnish with cinnamon or vanilla bean scraps.

Notes

You can substitute oat milk for a dairy-free option. Leftover vanilla syrup can be stored in the fridge for up to a week. For a different flavor, try adjusting the sweetness with honey, maple syrup, or stevia.
