Method
Make the Brown Sugar Syrup:
- In a saucepan, mix 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup sugar-free maple syrup, and 1/2 cup water. Optional: Add a dash of vanilla extract.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer until the mixture thickens. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
Prepare the Espresso:
- Brew 2 shots of espresso or make strong coffee using a stovetop espresso maker or French press. Aim for a rich, creamy espresso texture.
Mix the Drink:
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the espresso, 1-2 tsp brown sugar syrup (depending on desired sweetness), and 1/2 cup oat milk.
- Add ground cinnamon, ground turmeric, and ground cardamom.
Shake:
- Fill the shaker with ice, shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until frothy.
Serve:
- Strain into a glass, sprinkle with additional cinnamon if desired, and enjoy!
Notes
- For the milkiest texture, use full-fat oat milk.
- Feel free to substitute with different non-dairy milks like almond, soy, or coconut.
