Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup whole coffee beans
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3-4 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 3 cups water
  • Coffee grinder
  • Saucepan
  • Coffee filter or fine mesh strainer

Instructions
 

  • Grind the Coffee and Spices: Using a coffee grinder, grind the coffee beans to a medium-coarse consistency. Mix in the ground ginger and cinnamon.
  • Boil the Water: In a saucepan, bring 3 cups of water to a boil over medium heat.
  • Brew the Coffee: Add the coffee-spice mixture to the boiling water. Stir well and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.
  • Sweeten the Coffee: Stir in sugar and continue simmering for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Strain and Serve: Using a coffee filter or fine mesh strainer, strain the coffee into cups or a serving pot.
  • Enjoy: Serve Café Touba hot in small cups, savoring its rich and spiced aroma.

Notes

Increase the coffee-to-water ratio. Add a pinch of cloves or black pepper to the mix. Pair Café Touba with sweet pastries or savory snacks for an authentic Senegalese experience.
