Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of fresh medium-roasted coffee beans preferably Caribbean-sourced
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 6 ounces filtered water
  • 1-2 teaspoons brown sugar or to taste
  • Optional: splash of condensed milk or coconut milk

Instructions

  • Grind the Coffee Beans: Start by grinding your coffee beans to a medium-coarse consistency. Freshly ground beans will enhance the flavor.
  • Prepare the water. Heat filtered water to around 200°F (just before boiling).
  • Mix the Spices: In a small bowl, mix the ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
  • Combine and Brew: Add the ground coffee and spice mixture to your coffee maker or French press. Pour in the hot water and let it brew for 4-5 minutes.
  • Sweeten: Stir in brown sugar to taste, and if desired, add a splash of condensed milk or coconut milk for a creamy texture.
  • Serve: Pour the coffee into your favorite mug and enjoy the rich, island-inspired flavors.

Notes

For a stronger flavor, use a darker roast or let the coffee brew for an additional minute.
You can substitute the brown sugar with raw sugar or cane sugar for different sweetness levels.
If you prefer a dairy-free option, coconut milk works wonderfully to add a tropical touch.
