Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso
  • 1 teaspoon gelatin powder
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  • Bloom the Gelatin: In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes until it softens.
  • Heat the Cream Mixture: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot (but not boiling).
  • Add Coffee & Gelatin: Remove from heat and stir in the brewed coffee, vanilla extract, and bloomed gelatin. Whisk until fully dissolved.
  • Strain & Pour: Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve for a silky texture, then pour it into individual serving cups.
  • Chill to Set: Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) until fully set.
  • Serve & Enjoy: Garnish with whipped cream, caramel sauce, or a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra flavor.

Notes

To make it dairy-free, substitute coconut cream and almond milk. For a firmer texture, increase gelatin by ½ teaspoon. Best served chilled, with a drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce for extra indulgence.
