Ingredients
Method
- Prepare the Espresso:
- Pull a shot of espresso using an espresso machine or Moka pot. Freshly ground beans work best.
- Heat the Milk:
- Warm the milk over the stove or in the microwave until steaming but not boiling.
- Froth the Milk:
- Use a milk frother to create a light, airy foam. If you don’t have a frother, a whisk works too.
- Layer the Milk:
- Pour the steamed milk into a glass, holding back the foam with a spoon. Then, add the foam on top of the steamed milk.
- Add the Espresso:
- Slowly pour the espresso over the milk and foam, creating distinct layers.
Notes
For a flavored latte macchiato, add syrup to the milk before frothing or drizzle it on top.
Using whole milk yields the best foam, but barista-style oat milk is a great dairy-free alternative.
