Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut milk full-fat or light
  • 1 teaspoon loose-leaf tea black tea, green tea, or oolong
  • 1 tablespoon honey or preferred sweetener
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Tea strainer or fine mesh sieve
  • Mug or glass

Method

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, mix coconut milk, loose-leaf tea, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Heat the Mixture: Warm over low heat, whisking continuously, until the milk is hot and the honey is fully dissolved (do not boil).
  3. Strain and Serve: Remove from heat and strain the tea into a mug to remove loose leaves.
  4. Enjoy Hot or Iced: Serve warm for a cozy drink, or cool and pour over ice for a refreshing iced version.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey. Experiment with different tea types like chai, rooibos, or jasmine for varied flavors. For a frothy texture, blend the tea before serving.
