Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot brewed coffee medium or dark roast
  • 1 ½ ounces Irish whiskey
  • 1 ounce Irish cream liqueur e.g., Baileys
  • 1 ounce hazelnut liqueur e.g., Frangelico
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dark brown sugar optional, adjust for sweetness

Instructions

  • Brew your coffee using a medium or dark roast. A Clever Coffee Dripper works well for a smooth taste.
  • While the coffee brews, prepare a Muscovado sugar syrup by mixing equal parts sugar and water, heating until dissolved.
  • In a glass, mix 20ml of syrup with 20ml of Irish whiskey. Stir well.
  • Pour 120ml of hot brewed coffee into the glass and mix gently.
  • Shake 30-40g of heavy cream about 30 times for a thicker consistency.
  • Slowly pour the cream over the coffee for a smooth and elegant finish.

Notes

Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar or syrup. For a dairy-free version, use a plant-based cream alternative. Serve alongside desserts like chocolate cake or cheesecake for a perfect pairing.
