- Prepare Chai Base:
- Crush cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, cloves, star anise, and black peppercorns.
- Add the crushed spices and fresh ginger to 1 cup of water in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add black tea leaves and let steep for 5 minutes.
- Strain the mixture to remove spices and tea leaves.
- Brew Coffee:
- Brew 2 tbsp of your favorite coffee (using a French press, espresso maker, or any method you prefer).
- Combine and Serve:
- Pour the chai base back into the pot and add 1 cup of milk.
- Heat gently until warm (do not boil).
- Mix the chai base with the brewed coffee.
- Sweeten to taste with honey or sugar.
- Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy!
Notes
For a creamier texture, use whole milk or a rich milk alternative like oat milk.
Adjust the amount of spice to suit your taste.
For an extra touch, sprinkle some cinnamon or nutmeg on top.
