  • Matcha whisk (chasen) or electric frother
  • Heatproof cup or small bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon high-quality matcha powder
  • 2 oz 1 shot espresso
  • 6 oz milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or sweetener optional
  • 2 oz hot water for matcha preparation

Instructions

  • Brew the Espresso: Use an espresso machine to pull a single shot (2 oz) of espresso. Set aside.
  • Prepare the Matcha: In a small bowl, whisk matcha powder with hot water until smooth and frothy.
  • Combine Espresso and Matcha: Pour the matcha mixture into a mug, then add the brewed espresso. Stir gently.
  • Froth the Milk: Heat and froth the milk using a milk frother or steam wand until velvety.
  • Assemble the Latte: Pour the frothed milk over the espresso-matcha mixture.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Optionally, top with a sprinkle of matcha powder or cocoa for an elegant finish.

Notes

Adjust the matcha-to-espresso ratio based on your preference. Try oat or almond milk for a dairy-free version. A dash of vanilla or cinnamon can enhance the flavors.
